Enchated Seasons

  Enchanted Seasons

Spring, with it’s overpowering urge to be outside.

Red tulips, yellow daffodils, white cherry blossoms.

A rushing stream full of melted snow water.

Children splashing in rain puddles, making mud pies.

Neighbors talking over back fences.

A meadowlark trilling. Cottontail rabbits in the garden.

Fresh air. Newborn foals running and playing in a pasture.

A flash of a hummingbird jewel.

The first rose.

Love under a full moon.

Summer has come. No school. Shorts, tee-shirts and barefeet.

Cool mornings, hot days, watering grass and flowers.

Children running in the sprinklers, laughing.

Sunflowers nodding in the breeze, while bumblebees bumble.

Sudden black clouds, followed by soaking downpours of rain.

Sunglasses and hats. Watermelons and hotdogs. Kids in the park.

Shade trees rustling leaves.

The whistle of a mockingbird against a brilliantly blue sky.

A long, cold drink, clinking ice against glass.

Watching the full moon float across the sky.

Autumn with leaves falling. Reds, browns and yellows.

Leaves swirling in the wind. Cotton candy at a country fair.

Golden orange pumpkins, apples, kids in silly costumes.

A vee of geese honking across the sky going south.

Rodeos, football games, sweatshirts and tennis shoes.

Children tumbling in piles of leaves.

Giant globes of color as hot air balloons quietly sour overhead.

A whisper of early snow.

Indian summer and one last picnic.

A full harvest moon, the hoot of an owl.

Winter and cold. Homemade bread and hot chocolate

Sleigh rides with jingle bells. Red noses and cold toes.

Homes dripping icicles. Cookies cooling on the stove.

The swish of skis and rumble of snowmobiles.

Boots and warm clothes.

The wonder of a fresh snow at dawn.

Children laughing, having a snowball fight.

Spruce trees standing on a ridge of snow, sheltering a herd of deer.

Morning coffee while watching the chickadees on a bird feeder.

Dreams of spring on long, dreary nights.
